Why cats meow at humans more than each other

Image
This is a story that goes back thousands of years. Originally, cats were solitary creatures. This means they preferred to live and hunt alone, rather than in groups. Most of their social behaviour was restricted to mother-kitten interactions. Outside of this relationship, cats rarely meow at each other. However, as cats began to live alongside humans, these vocalisations took on new meanings. In many ways, when a cat meows at us, it’s as if they see us as their caregivers, much like their feline mothers. Cats probably first encountered humans roughly 10,000 years ago, when people began establishing permanent settlements. These sett...... Read Full article on HadNews

In the Future, 99% of People on the Street Are Actually Robots – Video

Image
Imagine a future where the streets are filled with robots disguised as humans. In this dystopian world, people only venture outside in robotic bodies, completely disconnecting themselves from their own humanity. However, their false sense of security is shattered when a mysterious enemy creates a weapon capable of destroying both the robots and the humans controlling them simultaneously. This intriguing concept is explored in the video “In Future, 99% of The Humans on The Street Are Actually Robots.” As we watch the chaos unfold, we are forced to question what it truly means to be human and the consequences of relying on technology to...... Now AI is outperforming humans when it comes to creativity

Image
Artificial Intelligence gains another win over humans, as a new study suggests it can have ‘creative thought.’ In a study conducted by PhD students at the University of Arkansas, 151 people were pitted against ChatGPT-4 with the aim of measuring divergent thinking. This is often thought to be a sign of creativity and imagination, as it involves a thought process that is used to generate ideas and explore possible solutions to a concrete or abstract issue. In the study, the multimodal language model created by OpenAI was found to provide more ‘original and elaborate answers than the human participants.’ The first take involved people co...... Do all humans feel music the same way?

Image
Forty-three thousands years ago, our ancestors were making music. We know this because scientists have found unmistakable prehistoric flutes made of bone and ivory in caves nestled within a mountain range in southwest Germany. The discovery clarifies that humans evolved with rhythm and melody for at least tens of thousands of years, possibly far longer. (Alas, anthropologists will never find concrete evidence of singing; vocals don’t fossilize.) The fact that music has been with us for so long explains why it affects us so profoundly — both mentally and physically. Tears can uncontrollably seep from even the most hardened eyes when Bru......
